dc.description.abstract The design of chronological and typological charts is often time consuming and diverts the researcher’s focus from the actual chronology to the design process. ChronochRt extents the popular programming language R and its visualisation package ggplot2 to speed up the design of chronological charts significantly. It allows chronological and typological charts to be designed and updated in a replicative way from chronological datasets with self-contained chronological units of a defined structure. The basic concepts and functionalities of ChronochRt are discussed. Two examples, a chronological and a typological chart, demonstrate typical workflows and the customisation of chronological charts. en
