dc.description.abstract This thesis contains several independent projects, covering two aspects of organic chemistry: natural product synthesis and investigation of new synthetic methodology. The first chapter contains the total synthesis of (±)-Lingzhiol, derivatives and their biological evaluation. The second chapter describes efforts towards the total synthesis of Gulmirecin B. The third chapter is about Spiroacetal formation by photocatalysis. en
