Assessment of dynamic processes and evolutionary trends of the western part of the arid Chilean coastal range: relationship between river catchments and coastal dynamics of the Coquimbo Bay system, Chile

Abstract

The obtained results show that through a detailed terrain analysis, combined with classical geomorphological mapping methods, natural hazards can be assessed and hence, this leads to a better understanding of the conditions of exposure and vulnerability of populated settlements and infrastruture.
