Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Für den Schmerz und die Ausweglosigkeit unglücklicher Liebe gibt es keine Lösung. Vielmehr zwingt uns die Situation in eine Transformation. Ähnlich wie die Menschen zu Zeit des Kolumbus auf die Entdeckung Indiens auf dem westlichen Seeweg fixiert waren, dann aber hinter der Enttäuschung eine neue Welt entdeckten, kann auch die genannte Transformation zu etwas ganz Neuem führen. Dem Blick zurück auf die Zeit einer unglücklichen Verliebtheit entsprechen verschiedene philosophische Einstellungen, die eine Nähe zur Melancholie zeigen.

Abstract:

There is no solution for unrequited or unhappy love, no way out. Life forces us to transform ourselves. This transformation can, possibly, open us for something really new. Columbus and his contemporaries were firmly focused on reaching India by the western sea route, were disappointed and, then, discovered something completely new. Likewise, our transformation in which unhappy love forces us can lead us to something new. Philosophical and melancholic attitudes towards the depth of life are being discussed.
