Abstract:

This thesis deals with the development of ultra-sensitive nanoscaled superconducting quantum interference devices (nanoSQUIDs) for the detection of small spin systems. SQUIDs based on YBCO grain boundary Josephson junctions and Nb SQUIDs with HfTi junctions were investigated.
