Internet in der handwerklichen Schulausbildung : Anspruch und Wirklichkeit der Internetausbildung im gewerblichen Schulwesen am Beispiel des Handwerkberufs "Gebäudereiniger"

Abstract

In einer empirischen Studie wurde der Zusammenhang zwischen der Internetnutzung in der handwerklichen Berufsausbildung und der Gewissheits- / Ungewissheitsorientierung der Probanden untersucht. Ausgehend von der Initiative „Schulen ans Netz“ im Jahre 1996 wurde über einen Zeitraum von acht Jahren der Gebrauch und die Nutzung des Internets innerhalb der schulischen Ausbildung von Gebäudereinigern untersucht. Es wurde durch Fragebogen versucht festzustellen, welche Schülergruppen sich beteiligen bzw. welche wieder aus dem Projekt aussteigen und wie die angestrebten Ziele mit welchen Ressourcen pädagogisch unterstützt werden können. Als bedeutsame Ergebnisse werden die sehr unterschiedlichen Erwartungen und Befürchtungen von Lehrern und Schülern bezüglich des Internets herausgefunden. Außerdem war bemerkenswert, welche großen Schwierigkeiten die Einführung des Internets in den schulischen Alltag verursachten sowohl in technischer wie auch in organisatorischer und pädagogischer Hinsicht. Es werden Vorschläge für Ausbildung von Lehrern und Erstellung von Curricula für die gewerbliche Schulausbildung vorgestellt.

Demands and actual perspectives on internet-education in the vocational school system – the field of “professional cleaning”

This empirical survey explores the relationship between the usage of the internet within vocational training and the personal style of certainty-uncertainty orientation. In 1986, the official initiative "internet for all schools" was started. From this point on, students coming from the field of „professional cleaning“ were examined for their usage and utilization of the internet over an eight year period within the normal vocational training in public school education. Questionnaires were used as instruments to determine on-going participants and drop-outs of this project. As a consequence, educational goals can be formulated and understood while ressources to support the process are identified. The main result points to the expectations and fears of teachers and students regarding internet usage which differ greatly.Furthermore, another result shows that the greatest difficulties were caused by the general introduction of the internet into daily school life. This was true due to technical reasons as well as organisational issues and educational goals. Therefor, pedagogical consequences are drawn to answer two fundamental questions: 'How to train teachers to prepare them for the internet' and 'How to design internet-based Curricula for vocational schools.' It was tried by questionnaire to determine which student-groups participate at this project and which get again out of the project and how the for striven goals can be supported by pedagogical resources. As significant results, the very different expectations and fears of teachers and students of the internet are found out. Furthermore it was remarkable which big difficulties the introduction of the internet into the scholastic everyday life caused as well as in more technically like also in organizational and pedagogic sense. Suggestions for education of teachers and preparation of Curricula are introduced for the vocational school-education.
