Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Beitrag, der eine Verknüpfung zwischen den beiden Forschungs- und Politikfeldern Wohlfahrtsstaat und Arbeitsmarkt versucht. Es werden 'vier Welten der Beschäftigung' identifiziert, die über eine spezifische Performanz und Funktionslogik verfügen: (1) die 'neoliberale Welt' mit den Ländern USA und Portugal, (2) die 'postmoderne Welt' (auch 'New Labour' genannt) aus Großbritannien und den Niederlanden, (3) die 'postmoderne Gruppe' mit Dänemark und Schweden und (4) die kontinentalen 'Old Labour'-Länder Frankreich, Österreich und Deutschland.

Abstract:

The survey tries a linkage between the two research and policy fields welfare state and employment. It identifies four classes or types ('worlds') of employment policy: (1) the 'neoliberal world' with the USA and Portugal, (2) the 'postmodern world' (or 'new labour') with Great Britain and the Netherlands, (3) the 'postmodern group' with Danmark and Sweden and (4) the 'old labour' countries France, Austria and Germany.
