Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich in ihrem ersten Teil mit der Geschichte der stereoskopischen Aufnahme- und Betrachtungstechnik. Das zweite Kapitel ist der Geschichte der stereoskopischen Bilder gewidmet. Im dritten Abschnitt wird die Stereoskopie in den Kontext anderer Medien des 19.Jahrhunderts (Panorama, Diorama, Fotografie und Film) gestellt. Dabei wird die Stereoskopie als ein Medium beschrieben, das einerseits die Realität verdichtet (wodurch es zwischen Fotografie und Film vermittelt) und andererseits die Wahrnehmung heteronomisiert (womit es auf moderne Visualisierungstechniken vorausweist).

Abstract:

The first section of the paper deals with the history of the stereocopes and the stereoscopic cameras. The second chapter is devoted to the stereoscopic pictures. In the third section stereoscopy is placed in the context of other nineteenth century media (panorama, diorama, photography and film). Here the stereoscopy is described as a media that condenses reality and heteronomizes perception.
