Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Das endotheliale Stickstoffmonoxid (NO)-System spielt eine zentrale Rolle in der Regulation des Gefäßtonus. Die endotheliale Dysfunktion ist eng verbunden mit einer reduzierten Aktivität des NO-Systems.Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) ist ein essenzieller Kofaktor aller NO-Synthase-Isoformen und erhöht die NO-Bioverfügbarkeit. In dieser Studie wurden die Effekte von Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) auf das NO-System durch Messung des Serum-cGMP-Spiegels bei 10 gesunden Probanden untersucht.

Abstract:

The endothelial nitric oxide (NO) system plays a central role in regulating vascular tone. Endothelial dysfunction has been closely linked to reduced activity in the NO system. Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) is an essential cofactor of all NO synthase isoforms. We examined the effects of Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) on the NO system assessed by measurement of serum cGMP levels in 10 healthy volunteers.
