The way of teaching medical education is subject of permanent discussion. Problem-based learning has been integrated in curriculas and was a successful response to requests for a reorganization. Bedside-teaching was emphasized but is limited by personnel- and economical resources at university. In parallel with this development, multimedial computer technology has come established and interactive. It is therefore thought to be an alternative option replacing university facilities in mediating cognitive contents concerning problem-based learning. Interactive learning-programs have been included in various parts of medical education. They are often designed in an intuitive didactical way and are, due to limiting mechanical and structural factors, unable to create an authentic bedside-learning-situation. Based on the observations of bedside-teaching-characteristics, it was theme of this thesis to analyze the dialogue between teacher, student and patient, followed by integration in a learning-program with a maximum of authenticity. The existing technical possibilities for authentical simulation had been analyzed, however the unlimited incorporation of the examined learning environment was not possible. In developing the learning-software of hepatology, compromises with inevitable loss of authenticity were necessary. Desirable didactical claims were reduced by narrow technical limitations. The language as the way of human communication is not suitable for the dialogue between man and machine. Artificial tools for interaction as reduced forms of this dialogue were inevitable compromises. Actually personal-teaching at university cannot be replaced by computer-technology. However, as a complementation, the integration of this learning-medium offers attractive possibilities to more practical teaching, improving the medical education. The shown result of these reflections is available and in practical use as a software-product based on hepatologic contents.
