Ein Intranet kann für die betriebliche Kommunikation und den internen Wissensaustausch eine hervorragende Rolle spielen. Dieser Text stellt eine praktische Anleitung für das Fachpersonal in One-Person Libraries (OPL) in Stichworten dar, wie ein solches Intranet strukturiert sein könnte (allgemeine Informationen, bibliotheksspezifische Informationen, Unterlagen und Hilfen für die Büroarbeit, rechtliche und Fachinformationen, Interaktionsmöglichkeiten) und wie man es plant und pflegt. An intranet is a tool for better communication and knowledge management in organisations.
