Inhaltszusammenfassung:
Bei der Analyse der Instanzen sozialer Kontrolle und den Auswirkungen ihres Sanktionshandelns ist die Schule bislang weitgehend unberücksichtigt geblieben, obwohl sie als eine zentrale Institution begriffen werden kann, die den formellen Kontrollinstanzen der Sozialarbeit, der Polizei und der Strafjustiz unmittelbar vorgelagert ist. Überträgt man die vom „labeling approach” ausgehenden Überlegungen auf diesen Bereich, dann wird die Funktion, die die Schule im Prozeß der Kriminalisierung übernimmt, deutlich. Die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Untersuchung, über die hier berichtet wird, zeigen, daß vor allem Kinder aus unteren sozialen Schichten bereits auf der Schule in „delinquente Rollen” hineingedrängt werden. Damit kann die durch „Selbst-Report-Untersuchungen” immer wieder gestützte These von der über alle sozialen Schichten „gleichverteilten Delinquenz” als „Input” der offiziellen Kontrollinstanzen nicht mehr in dieser undifferenzierten Form aufrechterhalten bleiben.
Abstract:
In the study of agencies of social control, that is in analyzing their activities and their effects on clients, the school has been fairly ignored so far, although it is an important institution which is able to influence the behaviour of children before they get into contact with other agencies as there are welfare-institutions, the police or the criminal justice system. If one looks at the school from the point of view of the labeling perspective, its role in the system of processes of criminalization becomes quite clear. The results of an empirical research-project which are presented here, show that already in school children of lower social strata get much earlier and easier pushed into ‘delinquent roles’ than their agemates of other social strata. Thus a central assumption of the labeling approach, e.g. the assumption of equal distribution of delinquent acts in all social strata being the input for the activities of agents of social control, however consistently supported by findings of self-report-studies, cannot be accepted in that undifferentiated fashion any longer.
