Der Anschlag vom 11. September entspricht einem klassischen Terrorakt. Neu an ihm ist der intermediäre Kontext, der ihn zu einem privatisierten Krieg macht. Ein identitätspolitischer Konflikt etabliert den Krieg als Lebensform, worin es um Religion, Gruppensolidarität, Ehre und Respekt geht.

Abstract:

The attack of September 11 was a classic act of terrorism, though its historical dimensions were unique. The intermediary context, in which the terrorist attack developed and of which the terrorists were part, seems to be the actually new dimension. lt is the context of the 'New Wars 'or 'Privatized Wars '. Their goals are defined by identity politics and (again) establish war as a way of life dominated by group solidarity, honor and respect.
