Mörderische Motive : kriminalpsychologische Sinnsuche und die soziologischen Grenzen des Verstehens

Abstract

Der Beitrag thematisiert das Problem des intrakulturellen Fremdverstehens an 'motivlosen' Tötungsdelikten. Als theoretischer Ausgangspunkt der Überlegungen dienen uns die klassischen Formulierungen der soziologischen Grundannahmen zum deutenden und erklärenden Verstehen bei Max Weber und Alfred Schütz. Das Beispiel des so genannten Lustmords verdeutlicht die theoretischen Grenzen soziologischer und psychologischer Verstehensmodelle und wirft eine Reihe von Fragen füir das Problem der Motivzuschreibung in Kriminalpsychologie und juristischer Praxis auf.

The essay deals with the problem of intercultural understanding based on the border case of homicide. As theoretical starting point of our considerations we draw on the basic sociological assumptions about the two types of understanding (interpreting and explaining) applied by Max Weber and Alfred Schütz. The example of the so-called 'Lustmord' clarifies the theoretical boundaries of sociological and psychological models of understanding and raises a set of questions for the problem of motive attribution in criminal psychology and legal practice.
