20 Jahre IZEW : 1990-2010; Jubiläumsmagazin

Abstract

Im Jahr 1990 fanden sich Tübinger Wissenschaftler*innen zusammen, um gemeinsam über ethische Fragen in ihren Forschungsbereichen zu diskutieren. Noch im selben Jahr wurde das Internationale Zentrum für Ethik in den Wissenschaften, das IZEW, auf Basis eines Landtagsbeschlusses an der Universität Tübingen gegründet. Ethik, so der Ansatz, solle ihren Ort in den Wissenschaften haben und somit von jedem Forschenden zugänglich

In 1990, scientists from Tübingen came together to discuss ethical issues in their fields of research. In the same year, the International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities, the IZEW, was founded at the University of Tübingen on the basis of a resolution passed by the state parliament. Ethics, according to the approach, should have its place in the sciences and thus be accessible to every researcher.
