dc.description.abstract In the present thesis, we were concerned with the role of endogenous phase of sensorimotor µ-rhythm in modulating corticospinal excitability and interhemispheric M1-M1 communication. In the first part of this thesis, we present a custom millisecond-resolution EEG-triggered TMS system and the methodology of brain-state-dependent EEG-TMS, which was used for all subsequent experiments. In the second part of the thesis, we are concerned with the question of symmetry of µ-rhythm phase-dependency of corticospinal excitability between the two M1. In the third part of the thesis, we are concerned with the role of endogenous phase of sensorimotor µ-rhythm in interhemispheric M1-M1 communication. en
