Individual: BG

Sex: male

Age: 30(-35) years

Burial Type: secondary

Orientation of Burial:

Description: The disjointed long bones were heaped in a pile, which was delimited by both pelvic bones. The skull was positioned east of the pile facing east. Some bones revealed exposure to fire. An ash lens was found below the burial. Presumably the remains were burnt within the burial pit. The skull and all the long bones as well as shoulder girdle and pelvis are present and very well preserved when compared to the other skeletal remains from the graveyard. Vertebrae, ribs, and bones from hands and feet are missing. Blackening of the basicranium, the proximal ends of humeri and tibiae, and the distal ends of the femora indicates that the remains were partly burnt at a temperature of 300-400 degrees centigrade. The skull is hyper-dolichocran in shape. The skull displays two healed fractures of the right and left parietal bone, which are most probably the results of intentional blows to the head with a blunt instrument. Both lesions are oval-shaped; one is located on the left parietal eminence measuring 25 x 20 mm; the other lesion is located close to the right lambdoidal suture measuring 20 mm x 15 mm. Body Height Estimation: 173,00 (Trotter & Gleser 1952)
