Sex: ?

Age: 2-5 years according to epiphyseal union

Burial Type: unknown

Orientation of Burial:

Description: AY/AZ. The skulls of two infants were placed next to each other. They were standing on their base, facing east. AY: A moderately well preserved calvarium of a 2-5 years old child was found. The sagittal suture is fused; the skull is slightly elongated (scaphocephalic, craniosynostosis). An increase of porosity of the parietal and occipital bone can be observed (cribra cranii). With the help of SEM-images, produced at the university of Tuebingen, a skull piece and a rib fragment were scanned in order to look for sickle-cells. Possible examples of sickle cells were found. However, an in-depth study to further proof this theory would be necessary.
