Diese retrospektive Studie bezieht sich auf Meningeome im Bereich der Sehbahn und den postoperativen Status, dabei wurden Daten von 32 Patienten statistisch bearbeitet. Der untersuchte Zeitraum lag zwischen Mai 1984 und April 2006. Die Studie zeigt ein Überwiegen von weiblichen Patienten, darüber hinaus sind die meisten Tumoren gutartig und liegen im Bereich des Os sphenoidale. Es zeigte sich ein hohes Rezidivrisko trotz vermeintlich vollständiger Tumorentfernung. Zusammenfassend ist die Studie aufgrund teilweise fehlender oder unvollständiger Daten nur bedingt aussagekräftig.
This retrospective study refers to meningiomas in the area of the visual pathway and the postoperative status, while data from 32 patients were elaborated statistically. The considered period was from May 1984 to April 2006. There are meanly female patients. The gathered information reveals the tendency of occurrence of benign tumors, especially in the area of the os sphenoidale. At this a high risk relapse shows up despite supposed complete tumor removal. Due to missing or incomplete data the study is all in all with some reservations of limited value.
