Im Spannungsfeld der Propagandakunst möchte diese Arbeit operieren, deren Interesse es ist, die deutsche Bildpropaganda der beiden Weltkriege in Postkarten und Plakaten zu untersuchen. Dabei soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, welche Motive die deutsche Propaganda in der Zeit nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg einsetzte, und welches die „Vor-Bilder“ der jeweiligen Motive auf Plakaten und Postkarten waren. Ziel ist es, Traditionslinien und Weiterentwicklungen alter Motive aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg ebenso aufzuzeigen, wie Neuschöpfungen der staatlichen Propagandastellen nach 1918.
This thesis operates in the area of propaganda art. It intends to investigate German image propaganda of the First and Second World War by analysing postcards and posters. It mainly focuses on the question which motives the German propaganda authorities were using after the First World War and where the prototypes of these motives on posters and postcards originated from. An additional aim lies in both, disclosing traditions and developments of old motives from World War One and identifying new creations by the governmental propaganda authorities from after 1918.
